Missouri and the MCB Represented at the National Book Festival in DC

In this photo taken at the National Book Festival in Washington DC on Saturday, September 5, 2015, Carol Klein Swartout, the author of Painting for Peace in Ferguson, April Roy, and her daughter Lena Roy are all smiles at the Missouri booth in the Pavilion of the States.

The annual National Book Festival was held in Washington DC on Saturday, September 5, 2015. The Missouri book selected to feature this year was Painting for Peace in Ferguson, authored by Carol Swartout Klein (standing).  April Roy (seated) and her daughter, Lena (The Stamp Champ) Roy, were all smiles, as no doubt was photographer Kristina Makansi, the other MCB Board Member representing the state of Missouri at this well-attended festival celebrating books, authors, readers of all ages, literacy, publishers, booksellers, librarians, and others who use and value books.
